Heating Services include Natural Gas and Propane Furnace Repair
Oak Ridge, NJ Natural Gas and Propane Furnace Service & Repair
Furnaces, unlike boilers, are most commonly recognized by heating professionals to be systems that heat air for distribution throughout a home, specifically, forced warm air. Most furnaces found in residential homes are designed to burn natural gas, propane (Liquefied Petroleum), or oil.
The U.S. Department of Energy reports that natural gas is used in over 50% of all U.S. homes. Although natural gas is the most common home heating fuel, its utilities are not available to everyone. Liquefied Petroleum (LP), an alternative to natural gas, is produced as a byproduct of natural gas and petroleum refining. LP is a flammable mixture of different gasses and consists of either propane, or butane. When liquefied, it can be transported, stored, and used as a convenient source of energy. Furnaces that burn these two types of fuel, are generally manufactured as “gas-fired” furnaces, being field convertible to LP.
Furnaces are one of the most popular ways to heat a home, and just like any other home heating system, they require scheduled maintenance or seasonal tune-ups to keep them running safely, and efficiently. Monster Mechanical offers annual maintenance agreements, 24-hour emergency service and repair, as well as furnace replacements, and new installations. If you’re worried that your natural gas, or LP-fired furnace isn’t functioning as it should, call us today (973) 697-9776 to schedule an appointment with one of our highly trained service technicians.
Considering a newer, more efficient furnace?
Over the years, significant changes have been made to furnaces. They have become smaller, quieter, and achieve much higher AFUE ratings. An AFUE (annual fuel utilization efficiency) rating, is the percentage of usable heat produced by your furnace (output), compared to the amount of fuel consumed to produce it (input). For example: an 80% efficient natural gas furnace will produce 80,000 BTU’s of heat for every 100,000 BTU’s burned. At this percentage, 20,000 BTU’s of heat were lost to the chimney as non-usable energy. With the ratings of todays furnaces achieving up to 98% AFUE, the longer you wait to replace an old, inefficient furnace, the more it can cost you. Monster Mechanical understands that replacing your heating system can be challenging, and expensive. Our professionals take the necessary time to educate our customers in the many different furnace models we offer, while exploring replacement strategies to fit your budget.
